Honda ATC 70 Restoration | Restored 140cc 3 Wheeler!

174K views17

We restore my 1985 Honda ATC 70! I purchased this mini Moto 3 wheeler in the summer of 2020- it had been sitting for some time, the plastics were all cracked up, the original 72cc engine barely ran, and rust was popping out of the frame. We swapped a Piranha 140cc 4 speed semi automatic engine on it, completely transforming the performance of this all terrain cycle. In today's episode, we paint the frame, touch up and clear coat the original red, paint the wheels, install new wheel bearings, seals, brake shoes, and more!
    Thanks for Watching!

    6. Hamlock Maneuver

Don't ever use armor all or any sort of petroleum product on the tires and they will never get dry rot for the life of the tire.

Watch as the wise elder feeds his young, this week on cars and cameras.

    9. Lee

    11. JAKE PARRY

I think they should have done a big bar setup on it since they will be riding it. Plus the blue seat cover is correct to the 1985 model, & it’s a 4 Speed UP 😎👍

    12. jusride7

    19. paige smith

I'll bet yall had to wait and go back after your pit the following day... lol been there ...and tossing water on that thing makes a nasty mess..

    20. paige smith

You can buy a product called " mastic " remover at your local janitorial supply works really well and allows you just to wipe off the adhesive.. also I used to run 8" golf cart tires on my honda 110 cc 3 wheeler.. I first started using them because tires were so expensive..but then accidentally found out that all of a sudden my 3 wheeler was really 65 mph fast plus for most dirt road riding it didnt seem to effect the traction as bad as you would think ..since it had stiffer side walls it took that roll over feeling out of the equation and was a ball to do doughnuts with it was amazing how much drag was reduced after that I was sold and the local golf cart place practically gave me the tires .. it was awesome lol but you really need to make sure the brakes are up to snuff.. because now it will free wheel wen you let off the throttle instead of just slowing down ..I believe it reduced wear and tear by 75% at least on the chain and clutch oh and if you get stuck you just pick It up and scoot it over or just push it out of the mud. It doesnt weigh that much ..on the street it kept up with street bikes with twice the engine size .. i think you should give it a spin completely changes the trike into something completely different something better power slides are a blast rather than those balloon tires trying to roll under which just kills the stability ..i wish i could get my hands on another anyway have fun

    21. Drew 003

      “Wild salmon” 🤣🤣🤣

    22. Kcapalot 999

The ending of this video was awesome 😂👍🏼

    23. The Dream Police

can you use regular gasoline on the go power pit also do you have to do it in the middle of the creek

    24. mark pospichal

Great video as always. "Foraging" for dinner was priceless!!!

    25. Chris Englody

joke to pull on someone you hate take and ask them about their pans and if they have a cast iron one if they do buy another on that looks like it put a tack weld on the bottom and replace the pan in the kitchen and have it fall in half next time they pick it up

    26. Donell Muniz

Back in the late 70s, my dad's friend Charlie had a brand new ATC 90, and a brand new GMC Gentleman Jim (black and gold, sort of a Smokey and the Bandit TRUCK) pickup. He let me try out the ATC. I gave it too much gas, which makes the front end light and even harder to steer. I went straight into the side of the GMC. A GMC/ATC interface. Minor damage to the truck (I say minor, cuz it wasn't mine). To this day, I've never TRIED to ride another 3 wheeler.

    27. Donell Muniz

Not that you guys ever listen to me, but the trick with new seat covers is to leave them out in the sun for an hour or so, and they will soften up and be easier to stretch without tearing.

    28. Bbppp

Buy the round sic adapters for intake miles better seal

    29. 194 Gaming

My dad had one. custom exhaust, lifted handle bars, and a 110cc engine.

    30. Serge 27

      Спасибо за видео!!! 👍

    31. shawn cordeiro

      50cc 3 speed 70 4 speed

    32. Brandon Hammer

Now I really want the powerpit but that's pretty pricey🤣🤣

    33. Tom Salzl

Trick on decals I learned when doing vinyl on pop machines is use a soapy water in a spray bottle and then use a rubber squeegee to aid in rubbing out air bubbles..

    34. Ryan's Garage

You guys need to invest in an erasr wheel for stickers it goes in your drill!! dont use it on plastic! You can thank me later!!

    35. Redx108 .1200

Does anyone know where I could some parts for my act

The blue ATC 70 sticker screams 1980´s !

    37. Zachary Couture

      Bon appétit

    38. Forrest Strong

Can you fit a regular chain roller on that tensioner?

    39. Doc Ink

it looks way better w/o any stickers.. nose and deck that pig (40-50's slang for removing trim and badges)

    40. Antonio Rivera

Awesome video guys can’t wait to see you ride it 👍🏻

    41. SLAV willis Almera

Lovely to see the restoration , updating history 👍 beautiful little atc , the cooking and go power pit was a nice interesting and entertaining part too 👌😁🤙

    42. K.C. S.

Never seen an exhaust gasket do that before. Just crazy. Makes me want to pull my header off and check/replace them, LOL

    43. Jamari Hickmon

Mr izic must be getting old cause in the latest videos he didnt have a beard

    44. Nikko

Ike - 11:26. Don't know what you were doing to those old wheel bearings with those rubber gloves on - but it looked dodgy as hell. 🤣🤣🤣

    45. Justin Time

I remember back in the day, I had a Honda 70, along with about 7 of my school buddies my friends dad was a Machinist at air research, we jacked those 70s with stroker cranks, bored out, cams, headers over sized carb, headers. 3 speed to4. Changed the front sprocket. To top it all off put a little alcohol in the tank. Most definitely ur helmet. What else can I say scary fast on 3 wheels. Have fun with ur restoration

    46. Stanley Flinchum

and i see just one thing wrong. pink meat!! not well done! yuck

    47. Stanley Flinchum

      LMAO!!! clever!

    48. Billy Ray Davis

      You guys are the best

    49. Uptin Sinclaire

I was expecting them to at least media blasting it before painting or powdercoating the frame.

    50. John Here

@23:53 A time proven trick is to put Baby oil on some paper towel so it is soaked do this all on the Glue to be removed, let set over night. As a rule all of the glue will just wipe off. Not always but 80-90% of the time. Love your guys fun, and how good of friends you two are. Keep up the good work. Chain tensioner: You can remove the old cog from your old chain tensioner, and replace it with a new skate board wheel, they work great, and last a very long time ,and are cheap to replace.

    51. sammorgan31

Sounds like just the chain links making sound when they contact the wheel.

    52. Robert Zavitz

Is it just me or do these two feel more like employer and employee now its just awkward between them

      1. Robert Zavitz

@Isaac it'll be fine good im glad it was just me happen to really like this channel and the people on it

      2. Isaac it'll be fine

        Its just you

    53. PW

Isaac, I am really digging the beard. 👍

      1. Isaac it'll be fine

    54. J B

      Do Ikes next!

    55. Richard Werling

lmao at the 70's style food porn

    56. PUT EM DOWN Productions

Goo gone works the best for removing decal residue!

    57. Nick 04

Dammit now Im craving burgers but I cant have any or else my stomach will fire it right into the sky like a damn AA gun

    58. Donald Burkhard

Put brake lights in back where now have room, headlight? Not disc brake? Put tire flat liquid to help keep air in? Put weight sticker on back of coat. Sounds like tensioner not moving with chain? Fender flares or mud flaps ?

    59. Spy Funkr

I generally check you guys out for the fun projects, but the camping/fishing skit was funny as hell. I say do more unrelated skits. Cheers!

    60. Kwadfather Fpv

not gonna lie lol i like that fire pit

    61. Harris Melancon

      Try Caswell epoxy tank sealer

    62. cadillac crow

    63. Jack Williams

are you guys gonna do any giveaways?

    64. Uzumaki Romeo

Man you guys have the perfect property for Rc 1/10 scale trail riding especially with that little creek to drive through

    65. Nick W

Yes they did an ATC 70 Christmas special, 1983, I have always wanted one, only seen one for sale in a long time and it was trashed for 1800, I think the plastics on yours were changed at some point to older stuff like an 83 or something, 85 had a blue seat

    66. Uzumaki Romeo

As a real Honda fan I can’t believe you removed the original Honda badge why the heck would you do that??? SMH !!!

    67. Dave Moore

ATC 70 with a 140cc motor?????? Hell ya thats what im talking about :)

    68. Shawn Staz

I love watching ur builds but that campin expedition was the best part

    69. Harry burford

hi use that slime for the tyres

    70. xracer2910

Ok I looked through quite a few comments to see if someone already told you but I didn't see it. I use a spray bottle with water mixed with rubbing alcohol. I mix around 1 part alcohol to 3 parts water. It makes it so that you can move it around til you get it where you want. No worries about getting soap out, alcohol will dry up clear.

    71. Ayden Meisner

      Thank guys looks good

    72. SnoozyGreen

w7 from gtechniq .. best glue remover ive tried up to date :)

    73. Toasted Butter

these are 1700 dollars without any plastics and a lot of rust here in arizona. wish they werent. i cant being myself to spend that much on something i can lift up with just my left arm

    74. Norse Viking Æsir

Use a mini foam roller or spray it before you disservice a vintage ride with brush strokes.

    75. Ryan Dick

I would love to see an episode where John, Ike, and friends go on like a week camping trip with friends, I think that would be awesome, brig out all there toys, go fishing, ripping, and vibing in the woods.

      1. RS7JR

They've done it before. It's how they got the idea for the bronco because the guy who owns the grave ninja was on that trip. They drive their own vehicles up a mountain and pull mini trailers with their camping equipment so they can camp on top.

    76. Angel Colon

You should get a new exhaust

    77. Rex Morgan

Jooohhhnnnn skin side down man. Skin side down!

    78. Korgon2013

      Death ride.....

    79. Scott Robinson

Zippo lighter fluid works great for removing sticker or tape residue.

    80. Juanita Hemmerick

      you guys need a shave.

    81. Carl Johnson

      Looks good guys really

    82. Tyranis Customs

Our GoPowerPit is absolutely gettin hauled in the back of a Yerf Dog😏😉

    83. Jas Ward

Next time you want to remove old stickers try either very hot water or a heat gun, perhaps even a decent hair dryer might work, hot water and heat gun definitely works well

    84. Mark Cofer

FYI, Zippo lighter fluid is great for removing sticker glue.

    85. Joseph

Need mosquito net hammocks to relax in the trees

    86. Jonny Retro

Good skit guys. Love the 3 wheeler content.

    87. Stephanie Liskey

Y’all should do more camping vids were you stay over night and go riding in the same vids

    88. Anzetko Smuc

    89. Becky McDaniel

      I like the longer video.

    90. Nick Rudd

Good thing about those balloon tyres is they dont damage your mate when he falls off in front of you and you triple track him.

    91. Larry Ney II

The first thing I used to do is take the stickers off . It looks bad now .

    92. Jay Johnson

Am I the only one that full screened Isaac when he started to eat? I mean that music is so...

    93. Christopher Chapman

When applying stickers, use soapy water to position the sticker then a squeegee the soapy water out from under the sticker. Takes all the hit and miss out of the fitting.

    94. JETHO321

It's a mortal sin to use tank sealers. Itll cause havoc in the future.

    95. TheSuperJank

when your painting wheels stick playing cards between the rim and tire. seems easier than taping it. granted ive never done it myself, I don't see why it wouldn't work

    96. a a

ok so i took of crankcase to adjust camshaft then 2 valves came off and i think the rods came off its a metal long and skinny that looks like a pen and now my engine wont start anyone help?

      1. Isaac it'll be fine

Probably knocked off the rocker arms

    97. Duke Harold

WD-40 is a miracle worker on de-stickering especially for those old crispy ones, in my experience it gets the glue and all off better than brake cleaner or alcohol.

    98. Bill Oklahoma

You guys can come to my place and attack my Lincoln Town Car just like you did that three wheeler.

    99. Joseph

Idk if you'll see this but hang it from the ceiling cuz there light bikes and it's way easier if u have it on a pulley system with hooks used it at motorcycle shops hope y'all see and make funny content

    100. Joe Apicelli

Secluded spot? Isn't that a highway behind you?
