Free ABANDONED Honda 919 Motorcycle | Let's Bring it Back to Life for CHEAP!

193K views16

One of our subscribers gifted us a 2003 Honda 919, a 919cc, liquid cooled, fuel injected, 110 horsepower sport bike! We think it'll make the PERFECT replacement for the tired DOHC carbureted CB750 engine on our cross kart. Pher parked this bike a few years ago after it stopped running right, and he was kind enough to donate it to us for a future project. In today's episode, we see if we can get the free motorcycle running and riding right!

    1. corey collins

do yall still have the exhaust for that cb919?

    2. Colton Newman

It’s a shame to see a cb900f in this state. That being said I’m sure it will run and perform excellently. Shame on the previous owner for letting this exceptional bike deteriorate to this condition. The 919 hornet is awesome to ride on curvy, hilly country roads. They are very responsive and handle very well.

    3. Julius Torre

That's a Honda... It will last longer than you expected... My pro tip is Only use 10w-40 Fully Synthetic Motorcycle Oil using a OEM Oil Filter or a Better one with Synthetic Media Oil Filter. The Oil Filter uses the Same as any Honda Cars especially Civic yr. 1990s- 2000s so you can buy Expensive Oil filter... Change the oil every 12,000km and Change oil filter as well every oil change... if you use cheap oil filter change it inbetween oil changes interval so basically in 1 oil cycle you change oil filter Twice.

    4. Julius Torre

Oh men. That Honda Hornet 919 is a Legacy to Tadao Baba. It's an Art of Engineering and The performance of that bike is well balanced. Many bikes in that time is way powerful than 919 but 919 handles great, Great body position and Power in all rev even in 6 Gear at 1k rpm and that bike Flicks like GP, and not to mention that growling of exhaust! 110hp maybe not great but it feels more than that and can use all gears to their Top speed unlike other bikes. Love that bike but it's yours si do whatever you want but my one stick to stock and nothing else. Btw it's a Great bike for MotoGymkhana

    5. MotomarkH MotomarkH

Honda the best motors ever built run forever .... Forever ... For ever

    6. Cody Blamires

I would buy the exhaust off of it if you're interested in selling!

    7. Bicorps MO

I’d buy the exhaust and power commander from you. Let me know if you still have it.

    12. Lu M

This Honda hornet is really nice

    13. amber hunter

    14. john beach

    15. Evolution Kills

I own a 06' 919, and I love it to death. Used to own a 93' CB750 Nighthawk too. Also, while the 919 is a second generation of the CB900F series, its real lineage is the CBR919RR Fireblade. The engine is just a re-tuned 99' SC33 powerplant updated with fuel injection. It is a great street fighter. Bike has everything you need, nothing you don't. No riding assists, no ABS, no anti-wheelie, no traction control. Just an engine, wheels, tank, and some lights. Old school analog instrument cluster. It was a modern take (mid 2000's) on the UJM's that dominated the 70's.

    16. Gage Clampitt

      Yeee boi

    17. Sherman Dollison

It would be great to see the bike back on the road

    18. Johnnie Walner

      The forbidden orange Gatorade

    19. katie perry

They should take the truck on the path

    20. beardlessj

I had an 04 919, good amount of torque!! Loved that bike and definitely miss it!

    21. Whoodie

Man I wish that Honda was mine

    22. HellishGrin460

Good thing about EFI is they can't screw up the tune before it's even running. Nvrm... left the rusty tank on which would probably screw the pump and injectors...

    23. Tariq El Ageli

Check injectors, spark plugs (you know why) and I'd do a nice inspection of the engine... it'l be a RIPPER!!! Love the vids guys... Keep it up!

    24. martin panks

You guys make a great team.. Jaaahn what you doing buddy 😃

    25. Benny Cohen

What I would do to own a bike man fuck lol

    26. stempo1

Considering you crashed it with the 70 HP engine, Do you really think it needs 40Plus more?

    27. Cheese Eater #134

Sounds mean on the Reb limiter dam man Nothing like Fuel injection for u

    28. Cheese Eater #134

She sounds like a beast nice exhaust combo good video Inspire people to find them a build 💯💪🏿

    29. travis clark

Put that engine in the dragster

    30. Jack Allred

Make it into a hill climb bike!!!!!!!!!!

    31. Joshua Spencer

I cant wait for this one !!!

    32. Hugo Freak

if power commander is defective that might affect how it run

    33. tommy martin

I think you should make it into a scrambler. Kind of like Daryl from walking dead. Because these death cages are a little far fetch.

    34. Raging Gamer

How is the new garage going

    35. Tank Acebo

I once had a lady give me a very stolen Suzuki Bandit 650. her nephew's friend brought it and left it in her barn for like three years. I got it home, got it running, and found the original owner, offered it back, and he didn't want it. I offered him some cash for any paperwork he may have had on it, and he never got back to me. I almost killed myself on that fucking bike while screwing around lol. I ended up giving it to a friend who wrecked it the next day.

    36. Rodney Mathews

Build a lighter version of the cross kart with double suspension travel for that engine jmo

    37. GunsNcars

I would LOVE to ride that bike!!!!!

    38. Elijah McCartney

Imigine they put a Honda k series in the cross cart

    39. MadmanMarsBar

Funny bikes , branded as a Hornet in the UK, the first gen version came in a 600 and a 900 model , that bot produced RGE SAME power, but the 900 made more torque , they are also based on older CBR engines I also spyed a "dynojet" sticker in the bike and a decent exhaust, so if could have had a tune , potentially making it 120hp Only suggestion I could make is to use the standard airbox , they hate having pod filters on them and you always have to tune it Excited to see how fast the crosskart ends up :P

    40. dale g

I'd fix the 919, they are great bikes. There's always another sport bike motor to use for a project.

    41. Mr. Sileniu

Sees rust in the fucking fuel tank... tries to start the motocycles 40 minutes .... makes a burnout without checking the chain ... wow guys ...just wow.

    42. Donald Fuller

You would be amazed how easy you can turn these into a quad. The Kawasaki tecate swing arm bolts right up to the bike frame. The front easily gets adapted to the bike frame also.

    43. Diego Barrozo

Guys. With the fuel injected engine and the Power Commander, you can get a QuickShifter accesory which is very easy to install. Imagine the cross kart shifting without clutch and full throttle!!!

    44. Martins Ozols

Pains to see that this CB gona get parted out. Still prety restorable to former glory.

    45. Heather Thumb

I don't like the "3rd party". The dynamic is off balance. My boyfriend watches all these types of videos, which I personally don't like. The only ones I do like to watch are yours. Now there's a stupid camera man. And the guy in the camouflage is being a prick. Don't ever put 3 people together. Everybody knows that. And Cameo guy,.. uh word of advise don't bite the hand that feeds you. You're getting a little too big for your britches. It just makes you look like shit. Sorry/ not sorry. I just like you guys. Ditch the camera guy! Trust me it is the right move. 💗❤️💗

    46. Ratty RatStuff

use my shaft drive xs100 motor if i swap to an r1 engine haha. you could use the turbo kit and put the shaft drive into a transfer case and have a serious 4wd one. ive seen these engines make 180 with turbo on the dyno which is why i got it haha

    47. kevin auman

This beast covers the 1/4mi in 11sec at over 120mph and has a top speed of 140+mph BONE STOCK!!! So with an exhaust and good air filter and proper jetting PLUS the power commander you're looking at a >10sec 1/4 and 150+ all day I would safely assume so are you really sure you wanna rip apart a perfectly road worthy badass bike to put the motor in a cart which will never everrr be able to utilize its full potential when you could easily just find a new oil pan for the motor that's already on it and then keep the bike and run it how it sits maybe clean her up a bit!!!! I personally vote not tearing that bike apart sorry fellas

    48. Edward Murray

That gas looks exactly like orange Gatorade 😂

    49. Steven Pleasant

Must be nice any way can not wait to see it go in the cross kart or maybe build a big 4x4 cross kart full A-arm suspenssion .

    50. The Eturn

that Honda 919 is sweet to begin with. . going to rip in the Kart though

    51. Myteemouse

Have have the mapping for that setup if u would like it for free. The power commander won't work efficiently without a proper loaded on it.

    52. Mud Sh-sh-shark

    53. Dylan

Little bit of knowledge and you got a bike nice

    54. keith beardsley

I own a 919 and if it ever gets in a small wrack and the engine is still good i want to do exactly what youre doing. Cant wait to see the finished project

    55. TSG

      That 919 is a great all-arounder.

    56. Cristiano Correia

First start in years. Just HIT THE LIMITER... WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO😎😎😎

    57. Randell Monaghan

love it, bet he's spewin it started so easy. can't wait to see what you guys create with it.

    58. William Petrey

      Damn! Those are killer bikes.

    59. Frank Rizzo

Power commander replaces stock ECU when an aftermarket air filter and/or pipe. Like changing jets in a carb but with way more options. The one you have is a Dynojet which has been the go to for a lot of bikes over the last 10-15 years. Has a low, medium and high setting. The newer ones can plug into a laptop and you can download mapping. Not sure about the one you have. Love the channels, thank you for helping me during this long end of 20 and new year.

    60. Tota1 Wreck

Where do you find all this stuff lol

    61. Cool Monkey MC

I was going to fix my bike but I got high.

    62. Evan Canter

      Ike is such a badass!

    63. dak r34

Thats a good bike just ride the bike.

    64. Wes Harris

Bet bad ground fixed the issue aledgedly

    65. We just have fun We lit

How much do you want for the other motor

    66. Dragon Rider

You guys all ways look like you're having fun

    67. BradRange

I too hate coolant on my fingers.

    68. ErgoProxy

lol really nice! Can't wait to see how it comes out. This is easy one of my top fav projects. Just wondering though is the old motor a brick now or is it savable?

    69. ZOY GARAGE

1:27 i want that black helmet

    70. Bryan Turner

man, if only yall were actually into motorcycles. this 919 needs to be rippin down the road doin wheelies! it hurts to know yall plan to tear it down.

    71. William Savard

I can’t believe you guys don’t see the choke on the left side

    72. Jason Kelly

How about an episode about how to install an exhaust fan before we lose both of you...

    73. TNitro N

Thats an awesome motor! I have a 929RR. Basically same motor. 10k miles on mine. Enjoy!

    74. lux413

Lift the crosskart 2 inches soo u dont break. It again

    75. Chris Rides His Bike

That gas coming out of there looked nasty!

    76. KORY OREO

      Put a turbo on it

    77. Rory Rice

Put knobbies on it and make a fast track bike!

    78. carlzrx

That’s basically a fire blade motor you got there

    79. Thor555555

built it proper, you have got the perfect engine for it

    80. JR RACING

Love the video you guys never disappoint..." it'll be fine" 💨💨💨🤙

    81. n3rdyg1rl

Honda water pumps don't like non Honda coolant. One of the generic additives (silica I think) shreds the seals. Went through 4 water pumps in 1 season on mine before someone told me. Kinda wish the fucking dealer would have but then they wouldn't be able to soak me for 4 of them. Went to another dealer after that.

    82. CCR Autos

    83. FortnerBuilt Motorsports

I wanna watch cars and camera again but I just can’t take John seriously and he annoys the shit out of me on everything, acts like he knows what he is talking about. Gets old, replace John!!!!!!!

    84. suzukirider5699

Put some skid plates on it this time.

    85. The Scott_t_k

I had a 2003 CB 919. That was an awesome bike. I miss the sounds it made. Listening to one run brought back a lot of good memories. I subbed to see how this project turns out.

    86. maxice01

I almost feel bad for the cb because it’s not in bad shape and looks like a fun bike to have on the street.

    87. Adam Weston

Just discovered your channel and I like what I'm seeing so I've subbed to the channel and I'm looking forward to seeing the crosscart being brought back to life!😃👍

    88. Stevan Medina

    90. menno313

Is it me or does the guy with the little beard looks like ryan from the office?

    91. mikl911

Sold a F250 years ago for almost nothing because I was told the timing chain was gone and would most likely need a new engine. Guy I sold it too drove to my work in it a week later (to rub it in my face) and said all it was was a .20 pin on the distributer drive gear.

    92. mark wall

That was the Outer Banks. And will have the ASW Carbide this Saturday . 01/6/2021

    93. mark wall

Hey what's up guys! Love your channel. What part Of NC are yall? I hear yall mention Carolina Beach and the outlet banks a lot. Im picking up an ASW Carbide with a GY6 150cc motor and will be getting a MB200 from Go Power Sports soon and want to do a 420cc swap. Would love to ride your grand Prix. Im in Leland just south of Wilmington NC.

    94. Cody Davidson

Maybe you should’ve drained the rusty ass gas out of it before you tried starting it, instead of after.. just saying 🤷🏻‍♂️ and also not draining it by cycling the key since all that nasty shit is going through the fuel pump. Just for future reference I guess

    95. J T

Put it on the dragster keep the frame and use the dragster engine in the bike!

    96. Folke Johansson
